We congratulate Fiona Zahner on successfully completing her apprenticeship as an Electronics Technician EFZ and Adrian Flückiger on successfully completing his apprenticeship as a Computer Scientist for Application Development EFZ.

We would also like to take the opportunity to thank them both for their personal commitment and willingness to perform.

Fiona sums-up her own experience as follows:

“What was great within my apprenticeship was that I was able to work in the various departments of the company and that I was able to learn and contribute to such a wide spectrum of interesting and different things.

The employees at BRUNNER share highest willingness to help and support in any aspects of me learning the job, and have often helped me within my apprenticeship in case I had problems or questions.”

This is what Adrian himself writes about his time with us:

„BRUNNER offered me the opportunity in August 2016 to start an apprenticeship as a computer scientist with an accompanying vocational diploma. As a graduate of secondary school level B, this was a real challenge. Now in the summer of 2021 I was able to successfully complete my apprenticeship.

At the beginning of my apprenticeship I I received a very warm welcome to the team and quickly identified myself as a part of the team. In the relaxed environment, I first learned the basics of programming and was soon able to write the first programs for internal use. With increasing experience, I was also allowed to work on projects that went to customers. Towards the end of my apprenticeship, I developed some tools for customers, mostly independently, which enabled me to take responsibility and prove myself.

The programming jobs I was able to work on covered a wide spectrum and ranged from hardware-related tools to individual user interfaces. I always had different BRUNNER hardware at work and was able to gain interesting experience in integrating the devices into the software.

Since the BRUNNER team is rather small, I was given tasks that did not necessarily belong to the training as an application developer. Among other things, I was able to learn how to assemble PCs myself. I got an insight into the work of the production department through the commissioning and testing of the hardware. And as a personal highlight of this work, I was able to take care of one of our flight simulators for a sick colleague at a trade fair.

The work at BRUNNER is very diverse and the team is very pleasant. I would recommend an apprenticeship at BRUNNER to anyone interested in an apprenticeship as an application developer. “

As a modern family-run company, the education and integration of young people is very important to us. We are happy that Fiona continues her career with us as an electronics technician. Adrian will attend a vocational school. We wish him all the best and much success.
