The BRUNNER E2CAN MK II Gateaway is a high-speed Ethernet to CANopen gateway that allows the connection of BRUNNER CLS products to the host computer via Ethernet. Ethernet is the preferred communication interface for professional applications and CLS networks with more than two products (e.g. pilot/co-pilot setups). Further it can be used for any industrial application for connecting CANopen Networks to LAN.
The E2CAN Gateway offers easy connection of any CANopen network to Ethernet communication for BRUNNER Simulation products or any industrial application.
We strongly recommend the E2CAN gateway for any professional use of BRUNNER CLS products. For any dual setup (e.g. 2 CLS Bundles, refer to Quickstart Manual CLS-E Products) the E2CAN Gateway and CLS2SIM License is mandatory.
The device can be powered over PoE (Power over Ethernet), USB or external power supply and can be easily configured using the web interface or BRUNNER CANopen Commander software. Its robust industrial design and snap-on mounting on various top hat DIN rails allows for fast mounting and connection.
The application on the host communicates with an ASCII protocol over a standard TCP/IP socket. In addition, the E2CAN Gateway provides USB to CANopen gateway functionality, appearing as a USB HID game controller, eliminating the need for driver installation. The gateway can handle up to 100% CAN-bus load via Ethernet, making it ideal for data-intensive applications.Â
For industrial applications the E2CAN Gateway offers comprehensive filter and analysis functions for CANopen, with the integrated dual TCP/IP socket server allowing up to 2 client sockets to connect to the same CAN network. This feature enables the use of the Gateway as a CAN sniffer for various failure and performance analysis. The device can also function as a CAN sniffer over the integrated USB HID port.
