It’s a very impressive and positive feedback that Jessica Bannister-Pearce from PCPilot Magazine gave after her detailed review and test of a BRUNNER CLS-E NG Yoke.

“Once out of its protective packaging, the CLS-E NG impresses you immediately, not because of the all-steel construction or the perfect finish found on the casing. What impressed me the most was its size. … For something so solidly build, it weighs in at just 5 kg,   which is reassuring but not bulky and you can easily move the yoke around if you need to.”

“The force awakens….Once it’s sorted itself, the yoke settles into a nearly central position. A quick push on the controls and I can already can feel the yoke pushing back. The same goes for the roll controls and I haven’t even started a sim yet. … But to get the best out of it, the CLS2Sim software needs to be running. Depending on the sim you have you’ll need to install a plugin for the yoke.  There are plugins for FSX and FSX-Steam Edition, Prepar3D, X-Plane and Aerofly FS2.”

“With the simulation loaded and the yoke set, I test out the Cessna 172 to see how it feels. Sitting on a runway in X-Plane, once connected, the yoke immediately moves forward and stays there. Taking it in my hands, I can feel the engine vibrating through the firewall and into the yoke. Right now, the yoke is loose. As I apply power, everything changes. As airspeed builds, the yoke springs back towards me and I can suddenly feel the airflow over the elevators. I gently lift off and the whole aircraft feels alive.”

“This really is the ‘eureka’ moment. One of the biggest problems with sim controls is the lack of feedback when you trim. Trimming is always done by your feel. You know you’ve hit the sweet spot when you can no longer feel the yoke fighting with you. … You genuinely feel the pressure come of and the yoke settles into place.”

“The BRUNNER CLS-E NG yoke is something rather special. In all my years at the controls of virtual aircrafts, there have been a handful of those that have left me with a feeling of truly ‘being there’ and most of those were full-size simulators. This is the first yoke that made me feel like I was flying a real aircraft.”
